  3. It is with a heavy heart that I say good-bye to our beloved friend. She was brave and beautiful to the end. It was a privilege to spend a couple of hours with her - just last Tuesday - as we squeezed hands, sang and giggled like schoolgirls. What an amazing woman. Thank you Beau and Debra, thank you Dorothy and Audrey.

It can't be. I'm so sorry. Mostly for myself. I wanted her to be there forever. She will always be a part of me. Let me know if and when there will be a service.
    With great sadness,

    Lynn

    Hello Dorothy,

Our Barbara now knows the mystery. We had many talks about "letting the mystery be." She lives as always in my head and heart. Thank you Dorothy. You have helped and in some ways made it possible to be with Barbara in one way or another during her illness. Thank you.

    Goodness and love to you,
    Louise

    Hi Audrey and Dorothy,
I also have called several times and not reached BAB since my visit with her on 9/26. It was a lovely visit. I read her some Leonard Cohen poems and we really enjoyed them together. The physical stuff was difficult for me, but BAB is so accepting of her need for help. She is so amazing.

Please tell her I'm thinking of her all the time, and will keep trying to catch her on the phone.

    Thanks so much, Sylvia

  7. I am so sad I didn't have another visit, and so happy for the time I spent with Barbara Ann in August. I am so grateful for her open heart in embracing this path of impermanence, of her passing. Thanks Barbara Ann-- with love heart, Zorina

Thanks Dorothy for the blog. Barbara and I were able to e-mail each other after her diagnosis which was very important to me. Barbara had been a very influential person and mentor in my life, when I was young, as I am sure you remember. R.I.P. my dear Barbara,, Love always, Debbie Colbert

Subject: Memorial Services for Barbara Ann?
    To: dbender@gmail.com

Is there a memorial service scheduled? I’m an old musician friend from the mid-90s. She and I had not seen each other in a long, long time. There was no one else like her.

  11. My heart is filled with both sadness and joy as I write this... Barbara has been a part of my life, and in my heart, for nearly fifty years. I still remember the day I first met her radiant smile and generous spirit touched me deeply -- and I will hold years of memories of her close to me. Weeks before she transitioned, we talked for an hour on the phone. She sang Louis Armstrong songs to me, we laughed, told bad jokes and shared fond memories. I know... I am certain... her luminous soul and spirit live on, smiling on us and sending her love... and a song or two. Rob Gilmer
